like seriously stepping things up.
Our sweet friend Jamie is getting married next year and this weekend she asked her closest ladies to be her bridesmaids.
This is how she did it!
{My BF Kate is part of the wedding party and sent me this adorable pic!}
So last night at our Super Bowl party, up came the convo of asking people to be in weddings.
Call me stuck in the 90s, but I'm about 100% sure that the invitation to be in my wedding will be delivered via my lips after a few vodka sodas. I had no clue that bridal party invited had gotten this formal.

I blame this 1000% on our good friend Pinterest.
You can search bridesmaid invites and your screen will be flooded with the following.

I'm hoping that one of two things happens before this bridal party inviting happens to me.
1. I get super excited and inspired about wedding invitations when the time comes. {doubtful}
or
2. Stephanie has something adorably cute pinned for me and doesn't mind making her own bridesmaid invites. {hopeful}
Beause I just can't see me pulling this off!
Thank you Pinterest for once again stepping expectations up!

P.S. Lord help me when my children's birthday parties come. That's a FAIL just waiting to happen!

I’m Kristen. Welcome to All In My Twenties, my place to pour my little heart out on the daily!! This is the world just as I see it. Why dont you kick up your feet and stay awhile?!

I feel the same way about child birthday parties! Ha! I'm like...whatever happened to cake, ice cream, balloons, and your favorite flavor of Kool-Aid in a big jug for all to spill.
ReplyDeleteomg I love it all!
ReplyDeleteI love all these cute ideas! Weddings are becoming a production!
ReplyDeleteYES! I basically just told my best friends via group text. I assumed they all figured anyhow? Then I saw these all over Pinterest and felt horrible about it! Glad I'm not alone.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many cute ideas out there to ask someone to be your bridesmaid! I has some great ones in mind but, when it came down to it I ended up just asking them myself! Some over the phone & some over drinks! HAHA!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many good ideas on pinterest! I wish I was really into it like I am now before my wedding. Maybe it was a good thing I wasn't though... that could have been expensive
ReplyDeleteIm not the crafty, creative type AT ALL. I asked my BMs by having cookies made in the shape of a dress that said 'Will You Be My Bridesmaid?' I LOVED them (as did the girls)! I did the same cookie for my flower girl and my ring bearer got a bear cookie with a tux on that just said 'Ring Bearer?'
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the stuff for my wedding was not very unique, but it's not about your name plastered everywhere or hand tied bows. My husband and I LOVED our day. Everything about it went perfectly. :)
HA! I love this! I asked my girls in a fun & cute way and I got married before Pinterest! So I really feel like quite the trendsetter! And girl...I make invites for a living, so when your time comes, I'll totally help you out!
ReplyDeletehaha pinterest is so great but wow i feel like every woman in the world is not held to such a higher standard when it comes to just about everything!!!
ReplyDeleteHAHA! Love this! :) I asked my girls over drinks. And it worked well for me! :) (ask Kristin - I asked her and she threw Jason's ID through a slat on the deck of the bar we were at!) HAHA
ReplyDeleteI completely agree!!! When I got engaged two years ago, I just called my bridemaids and asked over the phone. Then I got on Pinteret and saw all these adorable ways to ask the question! I really wish I had been on Pinterest when I first got engaged and started planning my wedding!
ReplyDeleteGIRLLLLL you already KNOW I've got your back. Ain't no shame in making my own invitation!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya. Sometimes Pinterest just makes me feel tired....like I can never keep up haha! I had an old fashioned slumber party with all my girls when I asked them. It was like a pre-bachelorette party. Win, win? I think yes.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I called all of my bridesmaids personally to ask them, then I found out about all these cool ideas via pinterest and felt like a total slacker!
ReplyDeleteAhh I'm so glad you wrote about this! The whole thing is expected to be a big production now. I have been contemplating for like a month on how to ask my girls and still have not thought of the perfect way! The other funny part to this is that most of the things on Pinterest have now been done a lot (cookies, ring pops, etc) and you are also expected to be original and creative! ughh it is exhausting!
