Hey there hotties!
Hope everyone had an awesome NYE. We had a blast and there will def be a post about that next week!
This post is about my NY resolutions!
Some love them, some hate them, me I think they're a great way to get to your goals.
Motivation if you will!
This year I made basic, ACHIEVABLE resolutions!
1. Save money to buy a house. Christopher set me up a house fund separate from my savings account and we both have agreed to deposit a percentage of our paychecks into our own house fund accounts to save for our future home! I'm good a saving so this one will be a breeze!!
2. Learn how to cook and do it often! My roommate is the cook in our house so I don't really cook often. This isn't going to help me much later in life, so I'm making a conscience effort to start cooking dinner at least 3 times a week! I have two cookbooks to start me off!
3. Work out 3 days a week! I finally got the clear from my PS to return to the gym so I renewed my membership, bought some new gear and I'm back at it! Unfortunately I put on a few pounds in my off time and thanks to the holidays so I'm excited to get back!
4. Be a good blogger, but a better friend. This blog is so important to me and really is my favorite hobby which has caused me to sometimes put it before my IRL friends and family and I vow to stop doing that. No more putting off dinner dates with the girls or my family because I have to get a blog post in or need to answer emails. Balance is important therefore I promise to keep up and update as often as possible, I just need the ones around me to know they are the most important and they come first! Doubt this blog will be attending my funeral or making me soup when I'm sick!! ;)
5. Spend more time with God. I will do this, even if its the only resolution I keep.
6. Make 2013 count! Make the changes above and make then routine! I want these things to be a part of me forever so I need to make them a priority now.

I’m Kristen. Welcome to All In My Twenties, my place to pour my little heart out on the daily!! This is the world just as I see it. Why dont you kick up your feet and stay awhile?!

Good luck with your resolutions! Change is hard!!! (Cooking more is one of my goals for the year too. I am a decent cook but suck about actually DOING it!)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I need to cook more too, I love to do it but I find myself eating out far too often! You'll have to share recipes!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Love your list!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great goals & resolutions! Nothing too extreme, all attainable! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou'll kill these, for sure! Love you pretty monkey princess!! Call me this weekend! I wanna play! xoxo
ReplyDeletei love these!! Girl I love to cook!!! you will love it once you start making yummy food!! Good luck with the resolutions!!
ReplyDeleteGreat set of resolutions. I also need to save money and I am horrible at that.
ReplyDeleteI like cooking, but baking even more!!
ReplyDeleteTry and make your own cookbook of all the things you want to try and once you've made them keep them in your DIY cookbook. If you made it and don't like it...toss it! Atleast this way you know what you like and can practice what you like to make and then move onto something new once you've mastered a few recipes.

Yes! Right on, shug! Best of luck for a wonderful 2013!!
ReplyDeleteThese are great goals!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear about your kitchen escapades and all the cooking debauchery. We miss your face around here!
ReplyDeleteI love your list of goals...mine are very similar - including saving for a house and cooking more! Best of luck to you in the New Year! Can't wait to hear about your goal progress! :)
ReplyDeleteCooking is on mine - I bake a lot but can't really cook. Looking forward to seeing how we both get on!
ReplyDeleteGreat resolutions! I hope you have a lot of fun cooking more :-) I love getting creative with recipes.
ReplyDeleteI was really encouraged to read your resolution to spend more time with God and how you want to prioritize that. I have that resolution too! I want to encourage you too, though. While it is definitely a blessing and a great habit to spend alone time with God, I am confident you can "meet" God in new ways through every other thing on your list. Cooking and enjoying food, loving your man, being a great friend and blogger, saving money- ALL of those things can be done for God's glory! I definitely need to get better at having designated me and God times, but with two kids, that can be tough to manage! I also need to take up the goal of purposely thinking of God in the day to day tasks, and glorifying Him in other ways, ways you may not typically think.
So anyway, I am excited to see what God teaches you this year as you spend time with him, but also as you enjoy good food, saving, blogging, working out, and being awesome!
I've never thought about opening an account just to save for a house but thats brilliant. I have my savings account linked to my checking and i'll switch money back and forth all the time. I'll probably have to start that...asap...

I am not really good at saving and am wondering if you would do a blog post or a blurb on what you do to save? It's a very important thing and I would love any advice you have. Happy new year!!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting that ya'll are saving for a house! My bf and I just bought our first home and it's overwhelming, but you have such a sense of accomplishment afterwards! It's like we're real adults. :) You'll have to keep us updated on your future house hunts! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove your resolutions! They're all awesome! Can't wait to watch you accomplish them in 2013 :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful resolutions! And it looks like you're doing well so far according to your pic on Instagram from the treadmill! Good job! Now, to get myself to the gym...
ReplyDeleteGood luck saving for the house, it will be so worth it! How long did you have to wait to work out again after your surgery? I have a consultation in a few weeks and that is one of my questions!
ReplyDelete2 and 5 are some of my resolutions too! I really need to learn how to cook! I want to make a bunch of recipes as well as make my own :)
ReplyDeleteI would HIGHLY recommend the Better Home and Gardens The New Cookbook if you don't already own it... I actually have a post scheduled about it for Monday... My mom got this for me Christmas 2008 and it NEVER gets put away with my other cookbooks, it has a permanent home on my counter-top! I'd be truly lost without it! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your resolutions! Buying new gym clothes always makes me get back into the groove too. I am also trying to cook more which should be interesting since I'm a disaster in the kitchen...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Sounds like a great resolution list...I still have my notepad with "Resolutions" at the top blank, gotta work on that tonight!
ReplyDeleteGreat resolutions lady. I love the idea of opening a separate account for house saving...we should do that!
