When Great Days Turn To Shit REAL QUICK

Yesterday I had a BADASS day.
Woke up on the right side of the bed.
Got to work early.
Super productive, completed a project that Ive been working on for a while, had a couple meetings, GOOD DAY AT THE OFFICE.
Left on time, went to my new gym and did an HOUR of cardio. I hate cardio so an hour is a LOT for me. I rocked that shit. Felt great!!
Arrived home to a sweet little Lilly happy as can be to see her Momma!

And then it hit me....

Where's Tugger??

He is always right next to his sister, so excited to see me.
Lets be real, when Momma gets home, he gets fed and that fatty LOVES to eat.

And then it REALLY hit me...

Tugger did something BAAADDDDD!!!!!

He only hides or avoids me when he thinks he's getting in trouble, getting a bath or getting his face cleaned. Those are THE only reason he hides.
I wasnt running a bath, didnt have a wet wipe in my hand, so that little SHIT must have done something wrong.

So I head upstairs to my room.

I walk in to find this.

My $200 hair dryer D.E.A.D. DEADDDDD!!!!

I know what youre thinking... "Pick up your shit and he wont destroy it!!"

NO MA'AM. I know that dog and I ALWAYS take all temptation away from him. I put cords up because I know they are his weakness. Every SINGLE day before I leave for work I make sure everything tempting is put away to prevent days like TODAY.

That little fucker DUG into my duffle bag, that was 3/4 way zipped up and pulled the blow dryer out. He literally dug it out from under a pile of clothes and proceeded to EAT IT. Its like he smelled the wires through the bag. Is that even fucking possible??? I swear it HAS TO BE.

My heart BROKE. Instantly. Like punch in the stomach, gut wrenching HEARTBREAK. I seriously almost cried.

I proceeded to chase him around the house and swatted him with a wrapping paper roll (It was the first thing I saw and didnt want to actually hurt him. The noise scared him more than anything.)and then I locked him in his kennel in the dark WITH the blow dryer so he could REMEMBER why he was in there.

After about 2 hours I calmed down and realized this was the perfect occasion to make Tugger's Dog Shame Note.

I contacted the customer service at Misikko (where I got it) explained the situation and begged them to reply back and let me know if the cord could be replaced. The blow dryer is still new and is amazing so all it needs is a new cord! Hopefully they can help. If not, please let me know if you have replaced a blow dryer cord before and where you got it done! I will be forever grateful!!!

Lets pray today's a better day!!

  2. Awww, that's too bad! I hate when those little monsters do something unexpected like that!

  3. Oh man...that's definitely not a good end to the day. I hope you can get it fixed!!

  4. I just almost peed my pants reading about you chasing your dog around and beating him with wrapping paper! Funniest post and funniest blog title. Ever.

  5. Oh gosh. I think I'd have had a really hard time not beating my dog with the hair dryer cord!! I hope you're able to get it fixed fairly inexpensively!!!

  6. OMG!! I really hope you are able to fix the blow dryer! Bad Tugger!

  9. WTF Tug boat?! Your blowdryer looks so, so sad.

  10. I feel for you. It's not as pricey, but whenever John and I are out what Drake decides is "too long" he heads straight to the trash can and pulls it out ALL OVER the house. We started shutting the kitchen door, and he scratched the paint. But we love our fur boys. Next time I'll have to shame Drake, the sign is hysterical! Hope you can get the dryer fixed!

  12. He looks so adorable in his shame picture! My neighbor recently did a doggy shame picture because her dog got up onto her desk where she works from home and pooped on it!

I hope you can get the cord replaced, and I have a feeling Tugger will be spending more time in his crate while momma is out :-P

  13. Seriously- You chased him around beating him with wrapping paper? Are you proud of this and the fact that you left him alone, in the dark, for 2 hours? I would be ashamed of myself, not bragging about it on the internet. I know I have been there- when sh*t hits the fan with my dog and have been upset BUT I calm down and remember he's a dog, he doesn't understand like humans do and unless you caught him in the act, your "punishment" accomplished nothing.

    1. I never jump to comment on someones blog. But I am sure other people including myself enjoy a little day to day post like this one from Ms. Kristen. In no way is she bragging about the situation. Please refer to November 28,2012 post, The Last of My Explanations, just to refresh your memory about her blog. Thank You.

      Thank You Kristen

    2. I enjoy day to day posts as much as the next person...but this was a bit much: "proceeded to chase him around the house beating him with a wrapping paper roll (It was the first thing I saw and didnt want to actually hurt him. The noise scared him more than anything.) until he cried and then I locked him in his kennel in the dark WITH the blow dryer so he could REMEMBER why he was in there."

I have no doubt that Kristen loves her dogs and takes great care of them, that is obvious. Just as you and everyone else is entitled to their opinions & comments, this really struck a nerve with me. No explantion is needed- but when you put it out there...not everyone is going to side with the blow dryer on this one.

    3. Amy, In no way did I physically HURT him and if locking him in his kennel is the worst punishment I ever give him, Im completely okay with that. Sorry I didnt give him treats and a cuddle session for being distructive. He's NOT stupid. He knew what he did was wrong and you can bet your ass he'll think twice before he chews something again. Im completely OKAY with my action. Thank you for being concerned but anyone who knows me or Tugger would assure you that even after last night HE IS THE LUCKIEST DOG IN THE WORLD TO LIVE IN MY HOME. He is loved and treated like a king daily. With that said, he will NOT get away with bad behavior without being disciplined. THE END.

  15. Tugger looks like he is soooo sorry in his shame pic!! "I'm sorry Mom, I just couldn't help meself, me loves some good wires"

Yikes!! Hope you can replace the cord!!!

  16. Seriously made me laugh out loud. I have to put everything up or hidden away from my dog too - little rascals.

  17. Yikes! I know my sister's dog at one time completely destroyed her straightener cord and my Dad was able to splice some wires and put it back together and finished it off with some black electric tape. Unfortunately I have no idea how he did it (he's a mechanic by nature) but I hope they are able to help you out!

  18. I saw your IG pic last night...my heart breaks for you hun. Hair tools are LIFE. Lol we will be adding a new housemate soon, so I'm trying to get in the habit of putting things away that may be tempting. This post is a good reminder for me.

  21. Oh my goodness...looks like Tugger and Bailey both went to the same school of hard knocks. Whenever I travel, Bailey always makes it a mission to sniff out all of the stuff in my duffle bag that he can't normally get to. jerks!

  22. That is awful! Hopefully he feels really guilty and loves on you a lot this week--and more so, that you can get your hairdryer fixed!~Brett

  23. Oh my goodness! :( I hate coming home and finding that the dogs did something bad. I feel bad yelling at them, but they definitely deserve it! But their sad face breaks my heart! :(

  24. Oh my gosh! It's really not funny but I did laugh reading about him digging into the bag pulling it out. Hopefully you can get a replacement cord!

  25. BAHAHAH! that is hilarious. The note, not the actual act! Poor Tugger! His little sad face :(

But even more, poor mama's hair dryer!! I hope they will replace the cord!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh no! I know exactly how you feel. I laughed a little reading this, but I totally feel your pain. I've come home to my dog hiding from me, so I know he did something terrible, and he's usually destroyed something of mine that was previously AWESOME...before the destruction.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ugh! That sucks! Hope they can fix the cord somehow!!!

  28. Dear God I love you. If it weren't for Tugger, you wouldn't have amazing blog posts like this one...just remember that! ;)

  29. I'm so sorry about your blow dryer!

  30. I am cryinggggggg from laughing so hard!!!! I love bulldogs and I can imagine him grunting and enjoying that cord! I also LOVE you calling him a little shit! This is a super priceless post. && why I love you!!

  31. I can relate! My Titus doesn't come to run and meet us at the door when he has done something wrong... so we know when something went awry that day!

  32. Ohh Tuggz. I hope they fix it! My Lily likes to leave dog food all over the house.. couch cushions and in my bed. Next time I find them I'm totally dog shaming her haha

  33. Aww man, bad Tugger! The look animals give you when they've done something wrong is priceless! Sucks about your blowdryer though, hopefully it can be fixed.

  34. Aww that is terrible. My dog doesn't chew things but he once put a scratch in one of my Chanel bags. It was on my lap in the car and he saw another dog out the window so he ran across my lap over my bag. I was not pleased!

They make mistakes but they are so damn cute that we have to forgive them.

I hope your cord can be replaced. Good luck girl!!

  36. Oh my gosh that dog!! I feel your pain, girl. I've lost 2 laptop charger, 2 tv cable cords, and a pair of TOMS to my dog. :( And for the record, when you said you chased him with the wrapping paper tube, I LOL'd!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ugh! That SUCKS. I've been there, Roxanne likes to chew the underwires out of my bras... not the cheap ones, the $80 VS ones that I buy for special occasions. I hide them deep in the hamper (with a lid!) and she still digs down in there to destroy them. Dogs are the best, and the worst, it's a good thing they're cute!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Exactly why I don't have dogs!!! My 2 year old is destructive enough. Adding an animal would just be crazy.

Hope you get that cord replaced!

  39. You'll have to keep us posted if they replace the hair dryer or not...wondering what kind of a company they are! :)

  40. I had a similar problem with a pair of lamps, lucky for me my dad was able to replace the cords with a trip to the hardware store and his electrical know-how. I would suggest finding a place that repairs lamps or tv's and they should have an electrician on site that can change the cord for you, it is at least worth a try before buying another hair dryer :) Good Luck!

  41. Kristin while I know you are a GREAT dog momma to Tug and LOVE him to no end I totally feel for you in on this! Rylie will chew things from time to time and when she does I want to strangle her myself. With that said I just feel like I need to say this and if it offends you I am sorry I do not mean to offend you in anyway shape or form but chasing your dog and hitting or even scaring him with wrapping paper and using the crate as a punishment is the worst thing you can do to a dog. A dogs crate is ment to be their safe haven and their happy place not a place to be punished. Now dont get me wrong I totally agree with you on punishing him because I do punish Rylie when she does something stupid too. I would suggest maybe coming up with a better way to punish him. Just my two cents.

    1. Thanks for your input! And I am not offended whatsoever. Fact of the matter is everyone has their own way with punishing both their children and their animals and not everyone agrees with other people's ways. Tugger is a good dog and VERY rarely gets punished so luckily I dont have to deal with this often! We never use his crate so I have no problem making it his punishment place. He doesnt stay in it anymore ever and prefers his bed as his safe haven so his crate is only used when he's bad. He knows he's in trouble when he gets put in his crate and thats my only reason for having a crate for him so Im completely okay with it!! Crate = his punishment place. Im aware other people use it as a dog house but I dont.

  42. I have cats and they're pretty destructive. Cats are creatures you can't crate (who crates a cat?! unless they're going to the vet) They've put lovely scratches in my very expensive couches, ruined my Uggs, but i've learned my lesson. I don't buy expensive stuff anymore. $200 hair dryer? really?

    1. I deleted your comment because calling me names on my blog is completely unnecessary and out of line. You can disagree with me, just as others have above, but I will not let you call me names when you dont even know me. There is an appropriate way to communicate your point and name calling is NOT one of them. You may disagree with how I treat my dog and I can disagree with the way you treat PEOPLE. Verbally attacking someone you dont know is WRONG. Tugger is perfectly HAPPY and is very well taken care of. Thanks for your concern.

  44. What a little stinker! My cant Henry does stuff like that and I have to hide anything that might trigger his bad behavior....but he sometimes finds a way to still be naughty just like Tugger! I have that exact same hair dryer and it started making a weird noise...contacted Misikko and they sent me a new one, so I hope the same thing happens to you! xoxo

  45. Girl, I can totally relate! I have two American Pit Bull Terriers and they'll get anything and chew it up! Sadly, I have to leave them in their cages because the last time we tried to leave them out they chewed a 2 foot wide hole in our brand NEW $2000 couches and as if that wasn't enough they chewed the corner of our boxspring matress and my damn Memory Foam Pillow! That's one thing about these bully breeds is that they get bored very easily and will hunt anything down. I was so overwhelmed that I literally just had to laugh!

  46. Did Misikko get back in touch with you? That is awful about what happened! I would DEF cry!!!
