Our Gingerbread House Weekend

Our weekend consisted of Christmas festivities and lots of home time.
We went to dinner with friends but skipped "going out" this weekend and IT WAS NICE.
We are always on the go.
One of us is always traveling to the other's city (thank HEAVEN thats almost over!!) and there are always plans we HAVE to keep so doing absolutely nothing was so much fun.

We got all of our Christmas shopping finished and proceeded to have movie nights and gingerbread house parties!!

My Christopher is a gingerbread house building machine!

He actually scolded me for borrowing a gummy bear off his house because he was color coordinating them so I really needed to "get my own"!! I literally laughed out loud! I had no clue the gingerbread house building would be so intense!

After we completed our little houses he decided that it was only right to place the houses in the lobby for the residents to vote on.
I thought he was kidding until he actually made a voting sheet and proceeded to carry it to the lobby.

This morning as his roommate was taking out the dog a fellow resident got in the elevator and stated, "I cant believe this is what they are spending our money on... GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTESTS!" haha! She has no clue his apt actually made the houses and of course he DIDNT tell her.

So the building thinks the apt staff is having a gingerbread house contest and building management probably wont know what to think when they find it in the lobby this morning!

Final votes = I suck!! Im C and 3 of those were pitty votes from Chris! haha
Of course Christopher's house got first. I still think its only because he stole all of our house pieces and made one huge house! It was supposed to be a 7 house village.

Some up close views of our lovely architecture!

Those baby houses on the left are mine and the mansion on the right is Christophers!

Christopher's mansion!

At least I landscaped my yard!! The boys didnt!!

Sunday evening the cold hit Dallas and we celebrated with hot chocolate before bed!
I LOVES hot cocoa!!

Monday morning I woke up to snow IN DALLAS and it made my week!!
This just DOESNT happen in Houston EVER!

Oh the joys of Christmas fun!

  16. I had no idea it snowed in Texas! It hasn't even snowed in my part of Canada (Vancouver) yet! It's on the mountains, but nowhere near the roads as of yet.

  28. The kids and I are going to work on a Gingerbread House in a few days. You guys rock, ours won't be anything that cute. I'm going to blame it on my 2 year old though!!!

I'm jealous of your snow. I'm not a snow fan but 60's in Kentucky is not typical weather. It should already be snowing here

  29. You should disqualify him. He created a "compound" not a house, hehe :P Therefore, yours wins by default! :)
